The Nepean, Rideau and Osgoode Community Resource Centre (NROCRC) provides a broad range of social services for a mixed urban and rural area of more than 1,000 kilometres. The population of the area is both diverse and mobile. Many immigrant families, young families new to the area, as well as a growing senior population, present a wide variety of needs. Permanent staff provide the underpinning at the NROCRC but volunteers help expand the range and frequency of programming and services our agency is able to offer.
Because you are doing an essential job in helping support agency services that are critical in the lives of many people, you can look forward to a sense of achievement. There is an opportunity for personal growth through training, retired people can revive and share important skills, and students can learn gain expertise and work habits that will serve them well in the future.
Community engagement enhances leadership skills, empathy and caring attitudes, and increases personal satisfaction. Core capabilities such as planning, team-building and collaborative leadership learned in the volunteer environment translate naturally into the work environment. A confident, competent, caring leader is valuable in every environment!
A Police Record Check is mandatory to volunteer with our organization.
