Mental Health Support

Help is available:

  • Counselling is available at NROCRC and will be by telephone or video-conferencing, depending on suitability for the client, in order to maintain physical distancing for the health and safety of our clients and our staff.  If you need counselling support please contact our Intake line at 613-596-5626, extension 249 for adult counselling or extension 308 for youth counselling, or by email at intake@nrocrc.org.  
  • The Walk-In Counselling Clinic provides counselling for NROCRC clients by phone and video-counselling on Thursdays during regular clinic hours (1:30-8 PM). Clients should call NROCRC on Thursdays at 613-596-5626 between the hours of 1:30 - 6:30 pm to reserve a spot, OR on other days you can call The Walk In Counselling Clinic centralized number at 613-755-2277. Sessions are available in Arabic, Somali, and English. (Arabic and English only at NROCRC).

  • Youth Services Bureau at 613-562-3004 or Online Crisis Chat.  Or call a 24/7 Crisis Line at 613-260-2360
  • The Kids Help Phone is available if you need to speak to someone 24/7 from anywhere in Canada by phone 1-800-668-6868. The service is available to youth across Canada dealing with any issue, big or small. All conversations are confidential.

  • WHO has written guidance on "Mental health and psychosocial considerations during the COVID-19 outbreak" as part of risk communication and community engagement technical guidance for COVID-19 response.
