All About These Programs

It is with great excitement that we announce the creation of two new Youth Drop-In programs in Barrhaven. These programs have been created to meet the needs and demands of youth in the community. Barrhaven is a growing and busy area, with vast potential for youth to be engaged in not only their community but the many services it offers.

The Barrhaven Youth Drop- In program will be running on Thursday and Friday evenings. The first of the two programs will operate with the goal of attracting youth 16 plus. This program will aim to engage youth in sports, community, social and mental health. The second program will be directed to youth age 12-15 and aim to engage youth in basic life skills, community engagement, mental health, and social skill development.

Youth will be given the opportunity to play in an open gym environment, learn to cook basic snacks and meals, volunteer in the community and gain a better knowledge of what Barrhaven has to offer. Both programs provide widely needed community links to social services and resources for mental health, transportation and much much more.

We are now looking for new youth to join our programs and email list for the new year. All youth are welcome to join but are asked to register with Nepean Rideau Osgoode Community Resource Centre (NROCRC). There are no fees to join. We are excited to get started and looking forward to hosting our open houses in January. Help NROCRC spread the word about these amazing new programs.

Any registration paperwork can be returned at the drop in nights or emailed back. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us!
